Application Identifier

The Application Identifier is an 8-character code assigned by the Sabre Data Source group.  The first 4 bytes are assigned based the vendor and application.  Bytes 5 through 8 are assigned by the Sabre Data source group to allow better tracking of the messages and facilitate analysis of how messages are being used.

Entry

A message that has been sent from the client system to the host system

Message

A structured message that is composed of an SDS message header and one or more SDS message segments

Message Definition Record (MDR)

A record that defines the layout of an SDS message. It is similar in format to a SDS message and can be downloaded from the host system.

Message Header

The SDS Message Header uniquely identifies the layout of an SDS Message. It is composed with an SDS Message identifier and a version code

Message Identifier

A fourteen byte character identifier that distinguishes the individual message. When taken with the SDS Message Version, it uniquely identifies the layout of a particular SDS message.

Message Segment

A SDS Message Segment is composed of an SDS Segment Header followed by one or more data elements.

Message Version

A two character numeric code that identifies the layout version of a particular SDS message.

Response

A message sent back from the host system to the client system in response to an Entry. See Entry

Segment Header

A SDS Segment Header is used to identify the layout of an SDS message. It consists of a six character segment identifier and a one character numeric nesting level.

Subset

Subsets extract and process only data segments/elements defined in the MDR Subset

Subset Identifier

Four (4) characters ID that relates to a Master MDR.
